Simonini powered Baby Lakes Aerobatics

Having a bit of fun in Peter Parkinson's new Baby Lakes biplane, flying from Rangiora, North Canterbury, New Zealand. Peter has produced an absolutely beautiful machine and his workmanship has to be seen. I was fortunate enough to be given the job of test flying. The engine is a Simonini Victor 2 Plus running twin 38mm Mikuni BN pumper carbs and turning a Thompson 71"x62" propeller through a 2.76:1 reduction. This little plane is great fun to fly and the engine is quite happy flying inverted all day, or at least until the rush of blood to the head makes you want to be upright again. More to come as we try some different camera attachment points.
