Do you want to get a job at Microsoft or Facebook? So did I, but turns out I was not the right candidate for the positions I was considered for. I failed to get a job at Microsoft and Facebook.

I am a failure in many ways - but I do not let that define me. I had many great job opportunities along the way during my career, but there are lots of missed job opportunities as well. In this video, I will describe how I failed to get a job at Microsoft and Facebook. These are two of the high-profile tech companies I would love to work for and it just did not work out.

Learn what happened and take away the learnings to improve your own chances when opportunity knocks. Knowing exactly what you are looking for in a new job and also knowing exactly where your skillset is and how it aligns is critical when finding a new job in information technology.

When you want to know how to work at Microsoft or how to work at Facebook it is super critical to fully understand the job description. As I mentioned in my video, the recruiters had a slightly different idea about the individual position compared to the hiring team. I also had a ver different understanding of what Microsoft or Facebook were looking for when hiring for these positions. Ideally, I should have asked for the job description and then schedule another call with Microsoft or Facebook about the jobs. In the end, I was quite sad that I did not get to work at Microsoft or Facebook.
