For this interview, Arshan caught up with SouthsideSilhouette & Rollin Thrax in Atlanta for their first interview ever together.

In this interview Arshan made his way to Atlanta, Georgia to interview SouthsideSilhouette & Rollin Thrax. These two artists are 2 of the most exciting out of Atlanta, alongside Hardrock. Southside has worked alongside Clayco (a collaborator of Destroy Lonely) Internet Money to create a new iteration of rage music. His project, DIAFORA, really showed his potential with songs like “DEAD TIL THE SUN COME OUT” , “SUICIDE DOORS” and “JUNKIE”. Rolling Thrax had a viral hit “Yeaaaa” which created a big movement for him. His debut EP “SSX” had fans taking note of his talent. He followed up with “2eZ” and other singles.

They both talk about their early days and being troublemakers in school. Southside talks about growing up in California versus Georgia and playing in a band. Thrax talks about playing football back in the day as well. He also talked about making early songs on GarageBand. Thrax touches on Chief Keef being his biggest influence. Southside’s biggest influence was Lil Wayne - The Carter 2, The Carter 3 & more.

Both talk about meeting online through video games. They would play Fortnite & Modern Warfare 2 together on Rust and Terminal. Thrax and Southside go into making music together with their upcoming tape coming out and hating Hyperpop and Destroy Lonely type beats. Arshan brings up SouthsideSilhouette’s unique use of samples such as The Regrettes, “You’re so F**cking Pretty” & “Walk Away from Love” by Bitty Mclean. They also touch on UTOPIA by Travis Scott and their thoughts on the tape. Arshan asks who the oldest artists they listen to which they respond with Biggie, Wu Tang, Ghostface Killah, Sean Kingston, & Sean Paul.

Arshan and Thrax tell the Southside about how Sean Kingston's house has become a hub for new artists. For example, Kankan and Soulja Boy were there hanging out which created “Sippin Wock” by Soulja Boy. Towards the end, they talk about having swag and their grail pieces such as Raf Simmons & also their worst outfits and other eras of fashion like Young Thug’s iconic biker denim. Lastly they discuss their goats. Southside’s is Lil Wayne, Chief Keef, Young Thug, Ballout, and Playboi Carti. Thrax’s top 5 is Future, Young Thug, Chief Keef, Lil Yachty, and Playboi Carti.
