Stamped concrete patio with a fire pit and seat wall/pillars

Join the concrete crew as we begin this new project. We installed a block fire pit, a 2' high seat wall with a pillar on each end and a new colored and stamped patio. This job was a lot of hard work but was incredibly enjoyable due to the hospitality, kindness, and HUMOR of the customers. I laughed so hard throughout this job that my throat is still soar as I type this description. These folks run a high end mobile barbecue business in southeastern Wisconsin serving private and corporate functions. There food is literally the best I have ever tasted and I highly recommend them.

In this video, we excavated the area, graded, set forms and poured a new colored and stamped patio. Before we were able to pour we needed to install the fire pit and seat wall which acted as forms for the new concrete. We used a light grey color hardener with a light grey release agent to accomplish the desired color the customer was looking for. The pattern we used for the stamped patio is called ashlar slate.

The next steps in the process are to pressure wash the patio and then apply 2 coats of acrylic, solvent based sealer. Stay tuned.
