Post-Flowering Morphology
Following successful pollination, flower develops into a small, dry, 4 mm long indehiscent fruit known as an achene. Obovate fruit is covered with ascending White hairs & is prominently crowned by persistent, tooth-like remains of Calyx lobes.

• Fruit: It is a true achene a dry, one-seeded fruit that does not split open (indehiscent) at maturity. Small, typically measuring 3-4 mm in length. Geometrically obovoid (inversely egg-shaped) to slightly globose, compressing down slightly near its base. Exterior surface is typically White-hispid (covered in stiff, minute White hairs) but can occasionally present as glabrate (nearly smooth).
○ 'Winged' Feature: As flower transitions to a fruit, Calyx lobes enlarge significantly. These lobes become prominently & reticulately veined, transforming into deltoid-to-ovate wings measuring roughly 1.5-2.5 mm. This architectural structure allows plant to scatter its seeds across long distances using high alpine mountain winds.
○ Seasonality: Fruits mature in late autumn months, specifically from August to September, preparing for immediate wind dispersal.
