Fantasy Summary
Supremely gifted offensive player. Can beat you in any number of ways.

Observations
February 2020 – The consensus soon-to-be first-overall pick has done exactly what was expected of him this season – dominate. He currently sits a mile ahead of the QMJHL scoring pack and is tied for the CHL lead with 99 points in 44 contests. He’s been suspended twice this year for questionable plays. Recorded a career-high seven points in a game the other night. Won a gold medal and was named the tournament MVP at the WJC. It’s been an eventful final junior campaign for the 6’1 winger. And it’s just the tip of the iceberg. He should step into the NHL next fall and immediately make an impression. Cam Robinson

November 2019 – In a surprise to absolutely no one, Lafreniere has exploded out of the gate this season. As a draft-eligible skater, the 18-year-old has led the CHL in scoring basically from puck drop but now finds himself trailing linemate Cedric Pare by a mere point. Lafreniere, Pare and Flames prospect, Dmitri Zavgorodny, have been the most deadly line anywhere in the U20 universe. Lafreniere’s 45 points in 20 games keep him right on track to be the most impressive QMJHL draft-eligible producer since Sidney Crosby posted 2.71 points-per-game in 2004-05. Lafreniere is why you load up on lottery first-rounders. He’ll be a kingmaker for your fantasy squad. Cam Robinson

July 2019 – Now that the 2019 draft is in the rearview mirror, the spotlight will shine brightly on the Rimouski Océanic superstar. Lafrenière is as dynamic as they come from the wing position. The reigning CHL Player of the Year (in his draft minus-two season!) has accrued 79 goals and 185 points in 121 QMJHL games through his first two campaigns. He’s captained the Canadians to gold at the U18 Ivan Hlinka tournament and saw his role increase at the U20 World Junior Championships last winter. He brings speed, power, goal scoring, disgusting hands, finesse, vision.. the entire package. He’s just a month shy from being eligible for the 2019 class, which lends even more credence to the belief that he’ll step out of junior hockey and into a starring role in the NHL. Get excited about this kid. Cam Robinson
