Proof that Idol dancers are professional dancers too

I’ve seen many ‘professional dancers’ talking down on ‘idol dancers’ due to the preconceived stereotypes.

Just because they don’t solely focus on dance, it doesn’t make them a weak dancer. Just because they trained differently to professional dancers it doesn’t make them any less talented or skilful. Just because their dance practices have ‘idol-like’ dance moves, it doesn’t make them any less of a professional dancer.

Take Yibo for example, elite dancers from around the world (such as Gogo Brothers, Hilty & Bosch, Ibuki Imata, Bouboo, Acky, etc) were amazed by the amount of skills and techniques he has from watching his dance battles, and even acknowledged him as a “professional dancer”. They even explained that Yibo was able to “synchronise and perfectly match to the dance style and moves of the dancers” (unlike in normal idol stages, the dancers didn’t try to match their moves to Yibo, instead, Yibo was matching/synchronising his moves to professional dancers, which shows that idols and professional dancers have an equal amount of skills and techniques). Yibo not only showed that he could dance to hiphop, he could also dance to locking, breaking, popping, house, waacking and urban, and was even called an all-rounded dancer.

And if you question his freestyle, Yibo’s is known to be a great freestyle dancer and was even complimented by the elite dancers on the show. (Also for those people who are in denial and thinks that the dancers were somehow forced into complimenting Yibo, I just want to say they didn’t only praise him on the show, they also praised him on Instagram live, Weibo (Chinese version of Twitter) and Douyin live (Chinese Tiktok).

All I want to say is, stop looking down on idol dancers, they’re professional dancers too.
