In this video, we will take a short tour of the old city of Batumi.
Let's start our walk from Europe Square. This place is a must to visit, because it is the cultural center of the city. Concerts and fairs are held here. On the square there is a statue of Medea with a golden fleece, which is considered a symbol of Georgia's well-being. After walking a little towards the sea, we go to the Drama Theater named Chavchavadze. Across the road is the city's embankment, but this is the topic of another video. After admiring the view of the snow-capped mountains, we go to the streets of the old city. This area of ​​Batumi is the most atmospheric. All houses are small, cozy, all different and very interesting. The old town was built up in the 19th century, many houses were completely restored. There is also a piece of Europe - Piazza square. It is said that the inspiration for the creation of this square was the architecture of Venice. Every detail of this place is beautiful. In winter, there are almost no people here on weekdays and only wedding photo shoots on weekends.
Of course, stray dogs and cats will be your companions for a walk here. Here you can not only admire the beautiful streets and houses, but also buy souvenirs, clothes, have a delicious meal, and stay overnight in a hotel.
