Courteeners 'St Jude' with Stephen Street

The classic album that is the focus of this XS Longplayer podcast is Manchester's Courteeners' MASSIVE debut album 'St Jude'.

Rather than talk to Liam Fray or one of the other Courteeners members for this album Jim caught up with the albums legendary producer Stephen Street (who has also worked with the likes of Blur, The Smiths, Kaiser Chiefs, Babyshambles, Shed 7, Madness and many more iconic bands).

Stephen shares his memories of hearing Courteeners play for the first time in Manchester and his favourite moments from the album as well as discussing the less-than overwhelming reception for the LP (at the time) and sharing his view on the current state of UK guitar music.
