Norfolk Naval Station

Have you ever seen an aircraft carrier, in person? If you were a Navy brat, of course you have. But if not, you need to visit a Naval Air Station!!

Norfolk Naval Station is the best to visit as it is the largest base in the world, where 46,000+ military personnel are stationed, along with 21,000 civilian personnel. A tour of the base can only be had on a tour bus with a Navy tour guide, so be prepared to pay for that. After you see the base and the ships, don’t forget to visit the gift shop, where you can buy souvenirs that you CAN’T buy elsewhere!

Then drive across the river to Newport News Shipbuilding Facility and see the ships being built and refurbished. Quite a sight!
