Tradition has it that at that time a king named Uttara Sena was ruling Swat, he also received the flowers of Gautama Buddha and when he came to Swat on a white elephant carrying these sacred flowers, and when this elephant came to Shangardar, On reaching this place, this elephant suddenly sat down here and the elephant died immediately and the dead body of the elephant immediately took the form of huge stones. This stupa is considered one of the major stupas of the Indian subcontinent and it is also said that the statue of a saint is seen on the hill north of the stupa and this statue can only be seen by a good and pious person. And this tradition is attributed to a Chinese tourist, Riku Tsanghao, who came here for pilgrimage in the 7th century AD. The total height is 27 meters and the circumference of its dome is 12 meters. The roundness of the stupa is divided into four parts, the design of the lower part is broken and finished, the other part has a circular window-like design, and is formed above it by a comb-like design, which is connected to the upper parts. The third and uppermost fourth sections are separated by a stone circle and it is here that the last part of the gaband was built and the surrounding structures are now completely finished. are usually in the form of towers around the stupas found in Swat. Around the stupa there are archeological structures of the ancient population, but now some modern constructions have also been made by the local people for their homes and Now this stupa is standing helpless without any adequate measures to protect it and this stupa is asking us for its survival.
