Harvesting a Bowhead Whale on the Remote Coast of High Arctic Northern Alaska

Please share & subscribe! YOU MIGHT NEVER PASS THIS WAY AGAIN....
Butchering a bowhead whale is a deeply spiritual part of the Inuit culture here in Northern Alaska. They believe that the whale gives itself to them to sustain the community. It is a deeply spiritual belief and when the harvesting of the whale happens, nothing goes to waste and it is totally shared with everyone. The people here have a good sense of community and really provide for their elders and those who have less and cannot manage for themselves. They share with everyone, this feast.
I invite you to try to understand the people, the situation and the nature of living in one the most Northern and isolated regions of remote Alaska.
Recently Kamau Bell of United Shades of America came to Barrow to begin to understand. I suggest to check out his show United Shades and the episode, The Last Frontier. READ BELOW for more info on Barrow.

320 miles north of the arctic circle lies the most northern city in the United States, the 11th most northern public community in the world and the small rural northern Alaska city known as Barrow.

Stay tuned and be sure to subscribe and share so you don't miss out on the rare opportunity to see what is going on at the top of the world!
