The track of Hurricane Iota

Hurricane Iota was operationally the first ever November Category 5 since 1932. However that no longer stands as it has recently been downgraded to a Category 4; no modern storms in this era has seen such a downgrade from the highest level of the Saffir-Simpson scale. Normally, only reanalyzed storms in the 1950s get such a downgrade.

While the intensity has changed, the damage remains the same. Coming right after Eta, Iota did not spare the area from devastation.
