Salam Fayyad on Palestine, Hope, and Peace through Stubborn Non-Violence
In his Nexus Masterclass, Salam Fayyad, who is held in high regard internationally as a statesman and a humanist, enters into a discussion with students on the Palestinian state, the importance of hope, and on peace through stubborn non-violence.
Salam Fayyad, Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority from 2007 to 2013, aims for a Palestinian state at peace with Israel. "Peace cannot be obtained, but between equals." Therefore Fayyad stimulates the Palestinians to lift their spirits and build their future, brick by brick. He is a driving force in the ongoing process of creating stable educational, juridical, administrative and health care institutions, laying a foundation for a more equal relationship with Israel.
