The Rise of the K-Zombie Genre

Do you hate zombies? Well, so did I, until South Korea came into the scene. In 2016, Train to Busan took the world by the storm with its innovative structure and heartwarming story, essentially reviving the zombie genre that's been walking around for a year too long without a proper revamp. But what did Train to Busan do that's SO different that it changed the entire game? That it's Korean? Actually, yeh. Let's take a look.

Note that the points in this video isn't to undermine the quality of non-Korean zombie flicks, but rather to praise what the K-zombie films are doing right; therefore, while some exclusivities indeed exist, many points may apply to non-Korean films as well (and there are also a lot of horrible Korean zombie films in existence at this point as well - so take it mostly as a tribute to Train to Busan)
