Bassist is Chris Ross, who also played the keys for the song.
He left the band in 2008 (two years after the song was released)
I couldn't find any social media/website for Chris, but I found Andrew Stockdale's instagram and sent him a message about the chorus. I don't hear triplets there, but online people keep saying they are there. Hopefully He'll respond to my message about it.
The song is played with a Ric, and has a lot of distortion/drive/fuzz on it, but the bass isn't played live.
It looks like the keys play the bass part live.
The intro sounds like it is just the notes I tabbed, but I learned it playing power chords FYI
There's a debate about the chorus on whether or not it has triplets or if you just hold the notes.
Listening through headphones, I didn't hear any triplets in the bass. Listening without headphones I didn't hear them. Playing the track in rocksmith doesn't have them (but it's worth noting that rocksmith often is about 95% accurate)
Live videos don't help, and I couldn't find an isolated bass track or just Chris Ross playing the part on his own.
so, It's now a couple months later that I'm coming back and finishing the tab. Anyways, I found my answer to the question about the chorus. I saw wolfmother post a video on Facebook March 21,2021 and you can see the bassist hold the chords. That confirms what I hear, not what other people like to do. I'll be finishing this up today.

I think this is him playing keys live, and there's no bass player live here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7hes8kQaZo
no bass live
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfiex_-Pcw8
This video shows drums, keys, and the lead (Andrew Stockdale), but it seems to be cutting out the other guitar player (almost on purpose) so it looks like there's only 3 people, but towards the end it occasionally shows a shot of a guitarist with a different guitar. Still don't see a bass live
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiAxlHmKICE
there is a bassist in this one (0:40), but the camera focuses on Stockdale and pretty much avoids him
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-Jxw26dnEc
no bassist live. Looks like Chris Ross plays the bass part with his left hand on his keys
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeiG453ELjk
same here.
Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
