Celebrating NeighbourGood (2025) - Bringing Good to the Neighbourhood

Join us on an incredible journey through the years of the Art of Giving movement, an initiative born from the vision of Prof. (Dr) Achyuta Samanta. Since its inception on May 17th, 2013, the Art of Giving has grown into a global movement, spreading the spirit of generosity and compassion worldwide.

In 2013, the idea of giving was launched with a profound epiphany. Prof. Samanta's pain, passion, and hope gave birth to the Art of Giving. What began with a few hundred people soon became a movement. By 2014, the International Day of Art of Giving was celebrated for the first time, uniting thousands in the cause.

Over the years, the movement expanded with innovative themes:

2015: "Kompassions - the garment bag," collecting and distributing clothing to the needy.
2016: "Connecting with the World and Self," spreading celebrations across countries.
2017: "Cyclothon," involving 100 cities in India and 80 global locations.
2018: "Pyaar Bhara Pyaak," where 10 million people distributed 20 million meals globally.
2019: "Bag of Happiness," delivering joy to millions.
2020: "AOG fights Corona," providing essential supplies and support during the pandemic.
2021: "My Mother, My Hero," with gratitude letters reaching millions.
2022: "Hope, Happiness and Harmony," celebrating positivity.
2023: "Helping The Help," focusing on unsung heroes.
2024: “Let’s AOG - people’s participation”

Now, as we approach the 12th anniversary, the theme " NeighbourGood- Bringing Good to the Neighbourhood " emphasizes on making our neighbourhoods even better. With a community of over 20 million followers and 10 million members, we aim to inspire everyone to adopt the spirit of giving, proving that every act of kindness can make a significant impact.

Our conveners, spanning over 5000 locations in 200 countries and every state in India, continue to spread the message of volunteerism and compassion.
