2019 Lauderdale Plant Demo

January - November 2019 A demolition of the 1993-2018 FPL Lauderdale Power Plant was underway. This shows a time lapse video of Units 4&5. These units produced 425 MWs each in a combined cycle mode with 1958 vintage Westinghouse steam turbines and generators. Soon to be erected will be The Dania Beach Energy Center a 2 on 1 combined cycle plant with General Electric Combustion Turbines and a steam turbine producing over 1200 MWs of Electrical Power.
