2 Guns (movie) | Earl Frames Bobby and Orders Him to Recover $43 Million

DEA undercover agent Bobby Trench and Michael “Stig” Stigman rob a bank in Tres Cruces, Texas. Bobby expects to find about three million dollars belonging to drug lord Papi Greco, but the vault contains $43.125 million.

When Bobby arrives at Jessup’s house, a man named Earl and several armed men are already holding Jessup captive. Earl is searching for the stolen money and quickly reveals that he knows Bobby’s real identity and undercover aliases.

After Bobby is restrained, Earl explains that the $43.125 million belongs to the organization he represents. He demands to know who inside the DEA authorized Bobby to rob the bank.

Earl loads a revolver with only a few bullets, spins the cylinder, and uses it to threaten Bobby. He first points it near Bobby’s knee and then between his legs while demanding the location of the money.

Bobby remains calm and says he does not know where the money is. When Earl pulls the trigger, the empty chamber prevents the gun from firing.

Earl then takes Bobby’s handgun and uses it to kill Jessup. He orders his men to place the weapon in an evidence bag so Bobby can be framed for murdering his own superior.

Earl tells Bobby that the evidence will make him appear to be a corrupt DEA agent who robbed a bank and killed Jessup. Any police station or federal office he enters will immediately treat him as a wanted criminal.

Earl offers Bobby one way out: recover the entire $43.125 million and return it. In exchange, Earl promises to remove the evidence against him and restore his name.

Before releasing him, Earl places a business card in Bobby’s pocket and warns him to find the money quickly or face prison.
