The level of ignorance in Ghana is remarkable. The level of irresponsibility is amazing. The level of unaccountably is stupendous. The level of stupidity leaves me speechless every day. Though traffic laws exist, they do not necessarily apply. You can get away with, literally, anything and everything. I am proud to say that Ghana is the freest country in the world. Riding through traffic tonight, it became apparent that lawless is paramount here. Red lights do not pertain to motorcycles and some cars. You do not need to have headlights on your vehicle. There is absolutely no need to stop or move over for the ambulance or police when you hear their sirens. You can park in the middle of a street and absolutely nothing will happen to you or your car. Street peddlers walk in the middle of the street and come right up to your car. There are religious posters and billboards everywhere, selling hope to the hopeless. If you are looking for a place where lawlessness is everywhere, there is no other place. Meanwhile, the so-called politicians and leaders witness the same lawlessness and do nothing about it because they are not in power or leadership positions to bring reforms but to enrich themselves. We can do better.
