Further information:

This was my first train trip in Moricco and I was pretty impressed.

The train was clean, punctual, safe, great facilities and impressive modern train stations.
Only the website was a let down as I couldn't book online. The train network in Morocco connects all the major cities of the Kingdom

The intercity trains I took operate under the "Al Atlas" brand, they operate across the network. with reserved seat included in the ticket price , 1st & 2nd class air-conditioned coaches. The carriages I took had compartments - a bit old fashioned (so no power plug!) but a perfectly comfortable seat (and a very smooth ride).
ONCF also offers more modern open-plan carriages with a 2-1 configuration.

The Moroccan train operator (ONCF) has now a new high-speed network:
high-speed trains connect Tangier, Kenitra, Rabat & Casablanca using a new dedicated high-speed line.
This service operates under the "Al Boraq" with trains running up to 300km/h (186mph)

Marrakesh station is the southern end-point of the Moroccan railways network. This station was opened in 2008. Cities further south are connected by bus services

For train times & fares please visit, www.oncf.ma
I wasn't able to book online from this website (with a non Moroccan credit card)
Website available in French and English, as well as Arabic and Berber (select language with the top right button top)

Train tickets can apparently be booked online at www.oncf-voyages.ma (including with non Moroccan credit cards). This website is in French only. Have you tried it? please add your comment

An app is now available (but only for real time information)
