**Grandma's Corned Beef with Cabbage**

**Utensils**
Large Cook Pot W/Lid
Meat Cooking Thermometer
Tongs
Stirring spoon
Knife
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Cutting board
Scissors

**Ingredients**
3 pounds of corned beef with a spice packet
3 teaspoons of yellow mustard
4 tablespoons of packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons of sugar
2 cups of beef stock
1 cup of water
1 large head of cabbage, cut into thick slices

**Instructions**
1. Remove the corned beef from its package. Wash in cold water and set in a large cooking pot.
2. Add the 3 teaspoons of mustard, the spice packet, 4 tablespoons of packed brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons of sugar on top of the corned beef.
3. Pour the 2 cups of beef broth and the 1 cup of water into the large cooking pot to cover 3/4 of the Corned beef. Bring to a boil over high heat for 10-15 minutes.
4. Once it is boiling, reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 2-3 hours.
5. When the corned beef is cooked, or has an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Add in the cabbage. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the cabbage has softened.
6. Remove the corned beef from the pot and then shave the corned beef. Pour 8 ounces of broth from the cooking pot into a small bowl. Set aside.
7. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shaved corned beef, cabbage, and an 8-ounce small bowl of broth from the cooking pot.
