Traveling to Los Angeles, California this weekend?

Here are 5 fun things to get into during your visit:

1. Visit the Santa Monica Pier - An LA icon, and has been featured in some of your favorite movies.
The Santa Monica Pier contains a small amusement park, concession stands, and areas for views and fishing. Ride the ferris wheel to get a birds eye view of the beach and and surrounding city. Pack a light jacket for sunset peeping, it gets surprisingly CHILLY, AYE! And, when you're done there, just steps away, pop over to Santa Monica Place. An outdoor mall featuring three levels of upscale retail, dining, and entertainment. When I lived there as a broke photographer, with no A/C, I would hang out in Venice and Santa Monica to walk around, and take the glory of one of God's greatest and most breath taking creations, the ocean.

2. Which brings to must-do number two.Take a jaw dropping drive up PCH along the pacific ocean, also known as Hi-way 1 Do not crash, but peep the multimillion dollar beach homes of the rich and famous. Y'all there have been so many times where i've just wanted to knock on someone's door and be like, "how'd you get so riilich?" Because Halllp! I need a beach home. Can you imagine? The way l'd let the rythmn of of the waves lull me to sleep every night!
3. For a glimpse of Italy, the Venice Canals, which are a very unique man-made community of bridges, sidewalks that hover above 6 large, boat filled waterways that flow through a neighborhood just about a block away from the Venice beach boardwalk. Side note and bonus, visit the Venice Board Walk.

4. Even if you don't consider yourself to be outdoorsy, you must visit the Paseo Miramar Trailhead, 800 feet above sea level, you must experience the rediculously scenic views of the Pacific Ocean from above that will seriously take your breath away. Read the description of this post for a short-cut and a much easier entrance.
Directions from PCH: Leaving Santa Monica, when you reach Sunset Blvd turn right, immediately after Los Liones Drive, there is a tiny street named Paseo Miramar (which can be easily missed), make a left. Drive this winding street and make a bunch of rights until you can't anymore (be sure to not turn on Lucero Ave or Catalonia Ave). When you get to Resolano Drive make a right, continue driving and street turns back in to the name Paseo Miramar. When you reach Vista Pacifica St. you're made it! Look for street parking and prepare to be very pleasantly surprised. Heck, I'm tempted to tell you to pack a blanket and a few snacks for a mini picnic, it's just so inspiring and pretty. Fun fact: Years ago I lived near the entrance of this trail head and would hike in at night with wine, snacks, and watch planes land at and leave LAX.

5. And last, but not least, visit 1 or all 3 of the prettiest beaches in the United States and some of my favorites, which are El Matador, Paradise Cove, Pointe Dome. Be sure to thank me, they are STUNNING. JUST WOW! GO!
