Dengue Claims 9 Lives in 24 Hours, Highest Daily Toll This Year

At least nine people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, the highest daily death toll recorded this year in Bangladesh. According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), seven deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation, and one each in Dhaka North and Chattogram.

During the same period, 1,042 patients were hospitalized across the country. With these new figures, the total dengue-related deaths this year have risen to 212, and total cases have reached 49,907.

Of the total cases, 47,256 patients have recovered and been discharged, while 2,439 patients are currently receiving treatment, 1,652 of whom are from outside Dhaka.
