CMPD Officer Joshua Eyer to be added to fallen officer memorial
Joshua Eyer will have his name added to Charlotte's memorial for fallen police officers during a ceremony Friday in Uptown.
Eyer was one of four law enforcement officers killed during an April 29 shooting in east Charlotte. He was working with a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force when the suspect shot numerous officers.
Johnny Jennings, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department chief, will unveil Eyer's name engraved on the memorial during a wreath-laying ceremony outside the Law Enforcement Center, which is located at 701 East Trade Street. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m.
After the unveiling of the updated memorial, a processional march to First Baptist Charlotte will begin. The church is the same location where a funeral for Eyer was recently held. #News #Police
