COUNT DRACULA'S CASTLE in Bran TRANSYLVANIA (Is This Dracula’s Castle?)

One day in Bran Transylvania taking a tour of the area’s most popular tourist destination Count Dracula’s Castle & looking into the connection between the castle, Bram Stoker & Vlad the Impaler.

I woke up early to beat the tourist buses to Count Dracula's Castle in Bran Transylvania and to find out whether this spooky looking grand castle built onto a rock has anything to do with Bram Stoker or his world famous vampire. There's no doubt that the castle is spectacular but the connection between the two is spurious at best.

In this video I’ll get to the bottom of Bran Castle’s association with Bram Stoker’s Dracula as well as Vlad the Impaler, an important and historical Wallachian figure.

Outside the castle there’s a large market where you can pick up all your souvenirs and memorabilia. The grounds of the castle are also enjoyable to explore, there is a large garden called Parcul Cu Lacuri with plenty of chilled spots to relax. Inside the castle there’s a living area fit for royalty, a courtyard & a secret passageway that connects the first floor to the third.

Bran Castle was built in around the 14th century although other fortifications were built there long before. It served as a royal residence, a hospital and more recently a museum displaying furniture and art collected by Queen Marie before her expulsion by the communist regime in the 1940’s.
