Video-Podcast "Design and construction of the ferries TOR BRITANNIA and TOR SCANDINAVIA"

On 16 May 1975, the German shipyard Flender Werft handed over the ferry TOR BRITANNIA, Europe's largest and most powerful ferry, to the Swedish shipping company A B Salenia, for which the subsidiary Tor Line AB was the client.

The newbuilding, shipyard number 607, later started regular ferry service on the route between Gothenburg, Felixstowe, and Amsterdam. The car and passenger ferry TOR BRITANNIA , whose sister ship TOR SCANDINAVIA was put into service on 12 April 1976 and was also built by Flender, was a further development of the ferries TOR ANGLIA and TOR HOLLANDIA built by Flender Werft in 1966 and 1967.
