Buying Land in Hawaii?

I bought land with a house on it on the Big Island of Hawaii in Puna in 2020 right before Covid-19 hit. It is a beautiful acre in Hawaiian Paradise Park (HPP) on the east side of the island. I want to point out some things to keep in mind before buying property on the Big Island. I was born and raised on the Big Island, but many of these things were even a big surprise to me - land maintenance, falling trees, wild pigs, fire ants etc are all things that have proven to be A LOT of work!
