LHB Coaches/Bogies Brake System | How LHB Rake Brake System Work | LHB & ICF Braking Distance

The LHB bogie is fitted with axle mounted disc brakes. LHB Disc brake has caliper assembly which consist of brake cylinder, brake pads, & caliper. The size of disc is 640 mm in diameter and 110 mm thickness. LBH brake Disc made of gray cast iron. 10” brake cylinder is used with built in automatic slack adjustment.
Features of LHB Brake –
• Brake cylinder pressure – 3.8 Bar for 4 seconds
• Brake cylinder piston force – 17857 Newton
• No. of cylinders per coach – 8 Nos.
• Coefficient of friction between brake pads and disc – 0.35
• Brake caliper ratio – 2.48
• Brake cylinder volume (each) – 9.75 liter
