Birding with a new SPOTTING SCOPE

In this video we demo the Pentax PF-80ED-A Spotting Scope at some of our favorite local birding hotspots. Despite a rather quiet summer day, we get a good feel for the spotting scope experience.

Using sport optics in place of a camera is a new experience. Although we miss the opportunity to get a photo, the views are unforgettable, and we end up identifying MORE birds overall.

The key is to use a quality eyepiece (We're using the a 8-24mm zoom) and ball head on your tripod. This provides a better user experience and makes a full day of birding with a spotting scope realistic.
