Calvary Christian Church - Audio Training Workshop - Practice Mix

I recently hosted an Audio Training Workshop at Calvary Christian Church, located in Winchester, KY. This is Session 5 of a 5-session workshop. This video is the practice mixing session I did for the group using a lot of the concepts we discussed throughout the day. The recording is "Alive and Free" by New Life Worship and was recorded during one of our Sunday morning services with our worship band. The PA system was our portable system that our youth group uses for their Sunday morning service in the gym, but we are using the Behringer X32 as our mixing console, which is what we use in our main worship center.

I apologize for some of the audio quality. The lavalier mic I was wearing was picking up a lot of the PA system, even though I was using the L/R output from the console as my audio source for the video.

I skipped over some of what I wanted to show in this video, as I was pressed for time. Normally, I would do a lot more EQ work to clean things up a bit, as well as work more on compression and gates for various drum mics. In this video, I also use a gate on a kick drum for demonstration, but in reality I would use various settings to fine tune it, but I just used some default settings to get the point across. I plan to make more videos in the future that dive in to more details.
