STORYTIME: MY DEADBEAT DAD... THE PASTOR
GIRL... COME SIP THIS TEA!
Things that make my father a deadbeat that I forgot to mention:
After highschool, when I was ready for College, I knew that the divorce agreement stated that he was to open a trust fund for both me & my sister. We would have access to these TF's when we turned 18. When I was ready to collect my money, to avoid taking out a student loan, I dug up the divorce agreement that had the TRUST FUND information. I called the number on the paper ONLY to find out that my father had closed the Trustfund back in 2006 (I called in 2011). This was the money for MY post-secondary education, I do not know what he did with it or why, but 2006 is the year he got married so I can only think the worst. I called him to ask him about it after I had found out he had closed it, I asked him how he expects for me to pay for school now... this man had the NERVE to tell me, "Where there's a will, there's a way." I have not gone to college.
And lastly, at a point, my father was supposed to supply us with groceries. He was supposed to take us grocery shopping once a month, every month. Instead of doing this, he made his way to a fucking food bank, A FOOD BANK! He took the donations and tried to drop them off at our house. My mother was so disgusted at his behaviour, but she wasn't shocked, nothing could come as a surprise anymore. She took the crate, drove it over to his house and left it on the hood of his van. He built up the nerve to drive it back over to our place and left it on the hood of her car... my mother took one more trip over to his place, placed the crate on his doorstep and called him and put her damn foot down and I don't know exactly what she told him, but what I do know is that he ain't bring that crate back to our house again. FACKKKUMEANNN?!
I hope you all enjoyed this storytime, it's something I know a lot of people can relate to. Even though my parents were married, and it seems like my father was a part of my life, I've nevere felt like he was. He may have physically been there but that's all he was, we might as well have had a cardboard cut out of him. I understand it can be hard growing up without that male role model, whether you're a young lady, or a young man but understand that everything that you go through in life is meant for you and that God will never give you more than you can bare. I love you all, and thanks for watching! Xx
