This robotic “arm” mimics nature 🐙 #trendingshorts #robot #technology #3dprinting

Scientists at the University of Science and Technology of China have created robotic tentacles inspired by octopus arms and elephant trunks. Named SpiRobs, these robots use a logarithmic spiral design that appears throughout nature – from seashells to galaxies.

Using just 2-3 cables for movement, SpiRobs can perform incredible tasks from gently handling an ant to lifting 260 times their own weight. They can automatically adapt to objects of any shape by "climbing" along surfaces.

The team built versions from tiny 1cm grippers to meter-long arms mounted on drones for aerial grasping. This breakthrough could revolutionize how robots interact with our world.
