Roush Racing's Former NASCAR Shop History Tour: Mark Martin & Jeff Burton's Glory Days Built Here!
Jack Roush started his NASCAR Cup series team with Mark Martin back in 1988. Ten years later THIS building became home to the all new Roush Racing team in the 99 car with Jeff Burton. This was a TOTALLY separate operation from the original teams in Liberty NC for two years until Mark and the 6 team moved in with Jeff for 1998. In 1998 Mark Martin had one of the most dominant seasons of his career winning 7 races and 22 top fives. This building in Mooresville NC is where it all came from. Jeff Burton won his very first cup series race here with our tour guide Tony "Rambo" Liberati working on the crew. After Jack built the current hoe of RFK Racing in 2001-ish this facility became home to the Busch (Xfinity) series and Craftsman Truck series teams! Now it his home to SRI Performance and you can walk in to see it for yourself 5 days a week!
