How to Remove Hidden Text in Microsoft Word

Learn two ways to remove hidden text in Microsoft Word. The first method uses Word’s Find and Replace tool. The second method uses the Document Inspector.

👉Please note that the Document Inspector method is not reversible. Therefore, you should only use this method if the first method fails to remove hidden text from your headers, footers, footnotes, or endnotes. This will most likely be the case if you are using an older version of Word.

This tutorial was recorded in Word for Microsoft 365. These steps also apply to Word 2021, Word 2019, and Word 2016.
