Hidden Mothers- Curious Olde Photography

A collection of curiously creepy photographs dated from the Victorian era onwards. This video showcases the 19th Century phenomenon of Hidden Mothers; women concealed behind draped cloth or curtains whilst holding their young children for portraits. This was often the easiest way to get wriggling children to stay still in the days of long exposure photography.
