The Al Aire Embroidery Technique is extremely versatile. Saskia ter Welle is showing in this video how to do Al Aire Embroidery with silk ribbon. With Al Aire Embroidery you work with an old sewing machine transformed into an embroidery machine.
This old embroidery technique is being used for haute couture, opera, theatre and ballet costumes. The visual impact can be dramatic or subtle. It totally depends on the materials and colours being used.

De Al Aire borduurtechniek is enorm veelzijdig. Saskia ter Welle laat in deze video zien hoe je zijdelint kunt toepassen. Bij Al Aire borduurwerk werk je met een oude trap-naaimachine die is omgebouwd tot borduurmachine.
Deze oude borduurtechniek wordt gebruikt binnen de haute couture en voor kostuums voor opera, theater en ballet. De visuele impact kan dramatisch of subtiel zijn; dat hangt volledig af van de keuze van de materialen en kleuren die gebruikt worden.

Wij zijn blij dat wij als Dutch Couture Academy deze borduurtechniek opnieuw in Nederland hebben kunnen introduceren door Marco Jerez uit Chili bij ons uit te nodigen. Hij maakt nu deel uit van ons docenten team. Hij komt ongeveer één keer per jaar naar Europa. Marco heeft bijna 30 jaar ervaring en is een zeer inspirerende mentor.
