JAPAN // Cinematic Travel Video // 24 days in 日本

A travel film from my 3.5 weeks holiday in Japan 2017. First time trying to produce a cinematic-style travel video - please let me know if you have any feedback or tips! Japan is an amazing place to travel to - a perfect blend of culture, history, liveliness, technology, architecture and best of all, food!

This was shot with a Panasonic Lumix G85 with Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 lens. I used a Kenko Realpro CPL and/or Neewer ND16 in the brighter daylight shots. All videos were shot at 1/50 shutter speed to meet the 180 degree cinematography guideline to create the cinematic 'motion blur' for the video to be produced at 24fps.

The travel video was created using Final Cut Pro X (Mac). Colour grading has been done using mLUT plugin. I also used a variety of transitions to match the type / motion / mood of the clips to stitch it all together. Final video was exported as 1080p at 24fps.
