Released as second single from their amazing self-titled debut album (Skid Row 1989), "18 and life" is definitly the band's biggest hit. The song was inspired by Dave "The Snake" Sabo after he read a newspaper article about a 18-year-old named "Ricky", sentenced to life improsonment for shooting his friend with a gun he thought wasn't loaded...
