Backpacking Caprock Canyon State Park

Lauren, Craig, and I went on a spontaneous trip to Caprock Canyon State Park in the Panhandle of Texas. We arrived late on Friday night, camped and then set out on our backpacking trip the next morning. We had originally planned two nights on the trail; however, it was just too tempting to drop the heavy packs as we had to pass by our vehicle only ½ mile into the hike on the second day. We ultimately decided to drop the packs, dayhike, and then head home Sunday evening rather than spending the second night on the trail. It was a great trip with spectacular views!
