Best route up Kinder Scout in the Peak District

Best route up Kinder Scout in the Peak District is in my view via Grindsbrook Clough. It follows a steady path alongside a stream with a lot of picturesque waterfalls along the way. On a hot day there is a number of places you can stop for a picnic and dip your toe's in the water to cool down. As you start to get deeper into the Clough you have to start to take extra care as it starts to become steeper with some light scrabbling needed to reach the top. On reaching the top, you are rewarded with a fantastic view over to Mam Torr and along the Great Ridge to Loose Hill. Average time for the whole walk in this video is 3 to 4 hours. Total ascent is 408 meters with a maximum elevation of around 595 meters.

No matter what the weather a map and compass is a must as the weather can change very quickly on the Kinder plateau.
