Sifu - Everything We Know So Far!

In this Sifu news update, I showcase and talk about everything that we know so far about the PS5 game from Sloclap. Sifu is a new single-player focused third-person Kung-Fu brawler game, developed and published by the Indie game studio with the support of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Epic Games, and Kowloon Nights. Set against the detailed backdrop of a fictional Chinese city, Sifu tells the story of a young Kung-Fu student whose family is murdered by 5 assassins. For the next 8 years, the student dedicates his life and soul to prepare for revenge. Now, the day of reckoning has arrived, and our hero has just 1 day to hunt down his family's killers and uncover an ancient mystery. Sifu will give players the option to choose to play as a male or female character. Players will encounter countless enemies as they make their way to assassin hideouts in gang-ridden suburbs, neon nightclubs, corporate tower hallways, and more locations, before taking on the assassin boss battles. Experience deep and challenging gameplay with intense hand-to-hand combat, brutal counterattacks, and unique unlockable skills. Use environmental hazards to your advantage by pushing enemies into tables, off of ledges, out of windows, and downstairs. Use bottles and other throwable objects and break apart items to create makeshift weapons. Players will also encounter armed enemies, which can be disarmed after a successful counter, allowing them to steal and use their weapons against them, or as a throwable object. Sifu's magic pendant revives our hero after death, aging him significantly and granting him new skills. I also speculate on the possibility of permadeath being a feature in the game. Sifu will be available sometime this year for the PS5 & PS4 via the Playstation Store, and for Windows PC exclusively from the Epic Games Store. Sifu was announced during State of Play on February 25, 2021.
