Reviewing Black-Owned Handmade Jewelry Brand Glow Girl

"Go for it. Don't be afraid. Everyone's not your customer. Somebody's gonna love it."

That's the advice Jorjan McClendon would give to her younger self—the budding jewelry-maker who launched her brand (then known as September Glow) in her college apartment. Now, just a few years later, she's graduated and relocated from University of Missouri to Charlotte, NC, where her apartment is still her workshop, but her product line has expanded.

Glow Girl specializes in custom nameplate necklaces, charm bracelets, rings and now anklets, all inspired by different seasons—in nature and in life.

In this episode of Boldly Black-Owned, Jorjan walked us through how she got started, what her favorite pieces are, and where Glow Girl is headed next.
