Celestron Evolution 8 Telscope - Quality Control Problem?

After endless research about my "next scope" (this is normal, right?) I decided to go for the Celestron Evolution 8" SCT. The model has been around since 2014 and there are many unboxing videos on YT. Having encountered some problems when my new Evo arrived I thought I'd make another which shows the issues and (hopefully) their resolution by my supplier First Light Optics.

The Evo 8 box ships at a weight of 26 kilos. The scope components inside total about 18kg.
