GET OUT OF THE BACKSEAT!
How to ski? A critical aspect of skiing is getting your weight in the correct position. This week I’m diving deep on the first fundamental of skiing: shifting your center of mass along the length of the ski. I’ll go over a weight shifting dry land drill PLUS an on hill drill called “falling leaf”. The key to moving your center of mass along the ski is closing and opening your ankle joint. When you close down the ankle joint your shin ends up pushing against the tongue of the boot and the tip of the ski is weighted. When you open the ankle your weight shifts back and the tails of the skis become weighted.
These drills will help every level of skier: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Everyone can benefit from playing around a bit on the slopes! ENJOY and I'll see you on the slopes!
