The lovers pentacle 5 follows the romantic misadventures of Kain Sanson. He is still a bit sore after getting dumped by the love of his life Eugenia. Now, every new relationship he approaches it while thinking about the one that got away.
He seems to think that the woman left him because he was bad in the bedchambers. The reality was that she didn’t want anything serious with the fellow. So, she let him go before things got too complicated.

Irina showed the friends other forms of augury. They eventually decided to try the Kua Chim. Kain went to the shrine to pray to his dead grandfather. Whenever he was grieved, he always looked to his grandpa for guidance. He was given a wooden cylinder with sticks.
“This is the most important part. Think of your question while you shake the sticks. It has to be one question only. If you change your question at the last moment, you are going to get a false reading,” instructed Irina, “And don’t ask stupid things. Cause you will get a stupid answer.”
“What do you mean?” asked Carina.
“The sticks are accurate, but they do lie,” explained Irina, “For now, let us focus on the question. Empty your mind of doubt. What is the thing you long to know about your future?”
Kain shook the sticks while focusing his question, “Am I going to find someone who will be my lifelong companion?”
As of lately, he was feeling rather lonely. Carina now spent more time with her boyfriend Bruno. Everyone was too busy to give him the attention he desperately needed. Whenever he was by himself, he would remember the assault. This would fill him with existential dread. He couldn’t be alone. He didn’t want to be alone with his trauma. Nor was he too keen in processing it.
The stick that fell was the number 14. Irina tossed some moon blocks to verify the validity of that reading. After tossing those blocks several times, she came to the conclusion that the Kau Chim sticks where not in a “talking mood”. She gave Kain a fortune cookie as a consolation.
“Your soulmate will appear in your life when you least expect it,” read Kain.
“Alight, alright. I like those odds,” said Carina nodding with approval.
The friends paid Irina for her time. During the car ride, Carina chatted while Kain just listened. She tended to be run her mouth when she was in overcompensation mode. She grew silent when she realized that her friend wasn’t listening.
She blamed herself for what had happed to. Why didn’t she invite him to her family vacation? Had he left the country with her, he wouldn’t have found himself alone, and easy picking for the wanna be vampire. She thought of the attacker. For more than six months, the bastard had been a background character. Whatever possessed him to attack Kain? Whatever possessed him to engage in vampirism of all things?
“I guess the quiet ones are the most dangerous,” said Carina during a red light.
“Are you still thinking about him?” asked Kain. He placed his hand to his neck nervously.
“Was the bite all he did?” asked Carina looking at her friend’s neck.
“Sigh…Carina. Just take me home. I am not in the mood to quench your curiosity,” said Kain lowering his gaze.
He opened his cellphone to read his messages. He frowned when he saw that his grandma and his father where not home. If Carina took him home, he was going to be in the house by himself. The light turned green.
Carina tentatively asked, “Do you still want to go home?”
“No,” said Kain.
“Let us continue then,” said Carina before pressing the accelerator.
“Wait stop!” yelled Kain.
Carina stopped the car by pressing her feet hard on the brakes. The car behind them started honking. Kain looked left and right. With his permission, she was finally able to get past this light. The ride continued at a leisurely pace. After 10 minutes, they arrived at Hoy Como Ayer or Today Like Yesterday. It was a live music venue.
