Ship Fire | Sri Lanka Braces for Environmental Disaster As Fire Rages On For A Week

Sri Lanka is bracing for a major oil spill off the coast of Colombo. A Singapore-flagged cargo vessel may sink raising fears of oil and chemical spill into the sea. The vessel caught fire on May 20 and has since been ablaze for over a week now. The vessel named X-Press Pearl is carrying 325 metric tonnes of fuel in its tanks.
