Brunch Review with Holly Laviolette | Hosted by Houmas House and Gardens in Darrow, Louisiana

So, you thought the gardens were gorgeous in our last Brunch review? You have to take a day trip to Darrow, La! Houmas House and Gardens is absolutely breathtaking! We entered the Dixie Café entrance. You walk through the doors and there is a museum, memorabilia, and the Café that overlooks the gardens. The service was Outstanding! Our servers were very gracious and attentive.

For our meal we started with the spinach and artichoke dip. The Chips alone, Best I’ve ever had! The Chips had such an amazing flavor and the creamy spinach dip just added to the delicious dish! We also ordered the gumbo, which was a little salty for my taste, the crawfish pie and crawfish pasta. 🦞Topped everything off with a yummy Mimosa!

After our meal we walked through the beautiful gardens. As we walked through the gardens, we stumbled upon a little gift shop. They had beautiful Christmas decorations, tea sets, teddy bears, etc. Sadly, we did not have time for the house tour, but there is so much to do here you can definitely spend a day here. Brunch, walking the gardens, house tour, museum and 2 gift shops! There is a walkway that passes over the highway. We ended the day with a stroll overlooking the river.
