[4K] Plane Spotting @ London Stansted 28/10/2021 (PT2)

Part 2 compilation video from my last trip to London- Stansted.
* History
The airfield opened in 1943 and was used during the Second World War as RAF Stansted Mountfitchet by both the RAF and USAAF as a bomber airfield and major maintenance depot.
The station was first allocated to the USAAF Eight Air Force in August 1942 as a heavy-bomber airfield and also performed major overhauls and modifications of B-26s.
After the Americans withdrew in August 1945 Stansted was taken over by the Air Ministry and used by 263 MU, RAF for storage purposes.
In 1954 the US Military returned to extend the runway after which the the airport continued in civil use ending up on 1966 under BAA control.
The current terminal building was built between 1988-1991 and cost £100m, a railway branch was was built to the airport and opened in 1991.
The air traffic control tower was completed in 1996 and at that time was the tallest in Britain.
Today it is the main hub of Ryanair and has some cargo traffic.
Runway 04/22 is 3,049m / 10,003 ft Long.
