Alright yall, let me explain this tutorial to you guys because I know it probably makes no sense to yall (because tbh it makes no sense to me either)
So this color I was going for started off as a FAIL, then it wasn’t a fail, then it was an even BIGGER FAIL, then somehow turned out EXACTLY the way I pictured it.
So first of all, yall might be wondering why I’m starting off with this coppery color instead of blonde to get yellow. Welp, I tried everything I could to remove the orange without bleaching it. I tried clarifying shampoo, Color Oops, and this color just would not come out. So I’m like okay I know Arctic Fox shades are super pigmented so maybe somehow this yellow would be able to cover this orange? I didn’t know if it would really work but I was like whatever I’ll still try.
So as I was putting the dye in my hair, it looked SUPER pigmented and yellow so I’m like yassss its gonna work even though its orange underneath.
Once I got from under the dryer and rinsed my hair out, IT WAS STILL ORANGE! It barely picked up a single drop of yellow. I wasn’t surprised but I was pissed and by this time its after 12:30 am (anyone that knows me knows I like to be in bed by 10 lol)
So I said F this video I’m going to sleep. I’ll bleach it in the morning to remove the orange then I’ll just start over with blonde hair to apply the yellow to. So I wake up and bleach my hair this morning and as the bleach is sitting in my hair I’m noticing its becoming the perfect shade of yellow I was going for (now I’m confused af)
After washing the bleach out my hair, MY HAIR WAS LITERALLY THE EXACT COLOR I WAS GOING FOR!! (and my dark roots even somehow ended up matching the rest of my hair too)
All in all, I honestly have no clue how the bleach removed all the orange from underneath the yellow dye (that I couldn’t even see) and made it exactly what I was going for but I can’t complain because this is the look I was trying to acheive. I DON’T GET IT BUT IT WORKED!
